PTFE (TFE) and Kynar both are in short supply.

PTFE - Polytetrafluoroethylene  product PTFE (TFE) along with Kynar  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar which is mined in Mongolia and China. The worldwide interest in this mineral has increased significantly, as well as the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance and incredibly low co-efficient of friction (slippery) and is utilized within a lot of purposes from non-stick fry pots and pans to ptfe tape for home use. This specific mineral is actually the crucial raw material in the manufacturing of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and many refrigerants. This rise in demand mixed with general shortage of raw materials is responsible for a dramatic price increase (almost double within the last year), shortages, and we expect both these factors to continue in the near future.
